Mooney test film / Rheo test film Malaysia

A Mooney rheometer test film is a specialized polymer film used to protect the equipment during a Mooney / rheometer test on rubber samples. It acts as a barrier between the sample and the instrument’s rotors, preventing debris from damaging the machine, and helps ensure consistent results by minimizing slippage during testing.

Why it’s important:

• Maintains instrument integrity: Without the film, rubber particles can build up on the rotors and in the instrument’s, leading to costly damage.
• Improves test accuracy: The film’s anti-slip properties contribute to more reliable and repeatable measurements of the material’s properties.

How it’s used:

• A rubber sample is placed between two sheets of the pre-cut film.
• This film-wrapped sample is then placed into the mould cavity
• The test proceeds as normal, with the film protecting the instrument’s rotors from any rubber debris.
• After the test, the film-wrapped sample is removed, and the film can be discarded. The film is often pre-cut to 80x80mm.
